Who Are We?
We are the new owners and operators of the Hickory Hill Motel, twin sisters Virginia and Joan Tromp. We purchased the motel in the early months of 2020 as a family business. Upon purchasing the motel, we began renovations on the building, replacing flooring, adding new paint, and redecorating each room, granting the Hickory Hill Motel a unique vintage flair.
We originally hail from the city of Chicago, where our father started his own moving business to great success. His commitment to quality service and hard work made a lasting impression on us in our own personal lives and careers. Since leaving Chicago, we have each achieved our own successes in business and in raising our families.
Brought together by our shared love and appreciation for the Driftless and its people, we have now resided in the Driftless for a combined twenty-four years. We purchased the Hickory Hill Motel seeking to provide the hospitality of yesteryear and we hope to continue the Hickory Hill Motel’s legacy of excellent service. We are proud to be listed on TripAdvisor as the Best Hotel in Viroqua.
